Fresh new nails for a fresh start

Hello lovelies! I hope you all had a lovely Xmas and that you are recovering from the festive season.

I'm not having the best of weeks and so I don't have any swatches or art to show you today. Instead, I thought I'd show you my natural nails. This is all mine, with one coat of Essie's nourishing base coat:

As you can see, I officially have my 'winter skin' now, so you can't really see my olive complexion anymore. And this picture is why I don't do bottle shots:

Unfortunately, I managed to break my right thumb nail on our dishwasher just before I took this picture, so I'm planning to nub all of these, but my nail care regimen appears to make them grow like weeds, so it's no biggie.

Sorry for not posting anything more elaborate or interesting, but I'm just having a rotten week and I don't have the energy to do anything else.

Try stay happy, guys and girls. That's all anyone can hope for.

'Til next time.

- Skye x

    1. Thank you, Lyndsay! If I'm honest, I haven't got a good solution to staining apart from nubbing. I wore a particularly bad teal a few months ago that turned my nails pure yellow and since I managed to grow that out, I've been too scared to touch my beautiful teals and turquoises! I actually have a review of a whitening product saved up from a few months ago so perhaps I will post that in the new year :)

    1. Gosh Tina thanks! I'm not so sure of that (wonky fingers hehe) but it would be interesting to try haha :-) Especially if I got to wear all kinds of pretty manis *.*

  5. Beautiful nails. Mine are all cracked and discolored. I should give them a little break. Especially now that I am on a break from blogging...

    1. Thanks Essie :) I did cheat - I have a base coat on. My real nails are FULL of ridges, always have been! You can remove the staining :) I did a post on it somewhere... ^^

  6. Skye, your nails are gorgeous! Yours are amazing...unlike mine...I just angle my pics well enough to hide my imperfections most of the time.
